That’s not a great idea. Not only will the color be difficult to replicate in the future, more importantly, durability will be compromised. It’s better to simply choose a lighter color with the proper pigment load to get the color you’re looking for – without compromise.
In final appearance and in many of the raw materials, yes. Obviously, the mixing method is different, and weāve added items to the Flex Tint cartridge to ensure the pigments stay suspended, donāt separate, flow out of the cartridge easily, and mix in properly.
No. Flex Tint is specifically formulated for Sashcoās stains, especially when it comes to VOC limits. They may not mix in properly with a competitorās product, so we donāt recommend it
Stir until completely mixed, which generally takes 3-5 minutes. A couple extra minutes wonāt hurt. Pigments can settle at the bottom of the pail in as little as 15 minutes, so normal mixing (3-5 minutes before starting and every 20-3 minutes throughout stain application) is still a must.
