We always say: apply a new coat where needed, when needed. On the south and west sides of the home, that’ll likely be every 2-4 years, depending on exposure. On more protected sides of the home, that could be longer. Do a test every spring and fall to make sure the walls are still sheeting water. If they’re not, it’s time for more Cascade. If using the semi-gloss, you can tell when there’s a sheen difference and will know it’s time for maintenance, as well. Keep it in the easy zone! Routine maintenance will save you a lot of time and money (and headaches!), so make sure you’re keeping up on that Cascade clear coat.

For a slightly higher sheen, yes, you can apply one extra coat of Cascade. It won’t net you a major difference in protection and longevity to do an extra coat, so feel free, but know that it’s probably not worth it.

It goes on milky, but dries clear. In higher humidity (meaning anything over 50%), it may take a longer time – a few hours – to change to clear. No biggie. It’ll turn clear in time.
