MildewFree is a one of a kind caulk. It's the only caulk that comes with a 7 year warranty that actually includes labor should the product need to be re-installed, in addition to our normal lifetime warranty for product replacement. Yes, but only small tiles (8" or less) and only for replacing broken tiles. 'Butter' the back of the tile and press firmly in place, then use tape to hold the tile in place for a day or so until the caulk sets up. For larger tiles and larger jobs, use thin-set mortar to adhere the tile according to the manufacturer's recommendations.Can I use MildewFree to repair grout? What size?
Yes, it will work well to repair grout. Only use on grout lines less than 1/4" wide. There are better options if you have textured grout or wider grout joints.How does cross-linking improve the film of MildewFree?
The cross-linking within the MildewFree formula toughens the film so it can be routinely scrubbed to remove soap scum, dirt, and other residue. A cross-linked film also prevents the caulk from holding a lot of moisture, which can soften or damage it over time.Can MildewFree be used in areas of submersion (pond, pool, boat, hot tub, aquarium, green house, bird bath)?
No, MildewFree is not designed for continuous submersion. It would be best to use a sealant approved for underwater use.Can I use MildewFree to adhere a mirror to a wall?
No. MildewFree is not an adhesive designed to hold a significant amounts of weight to a wall. Use a mirror adhesive or mirror mastic instead.Can MildewFree be used as a glazing for windows?
No. It's best to use a sealant specifically designed for window glazing or back bedding.How much does MildewFree stretch?
MildewFree will stretch up to 200% of its normal size before failure. But, it's best when it only stretches and compresses approx. 25% on a routine basis. Always design the joint to handle the expected movement. Contact Customer Service for details on proper joint design.Is MildewFree environmentally friendly?
MildewFree is a very low VOC product that actually exceeds the most stringent environmental standards for caulk in the nation. In addition, the formula is protected from mildew growth on the surface, and any reduction in mold and mildew from the home may help indoor air quality.Is MildewFree paintable?
Yes, MildewFree is paintable. Wait at least 4 hours (24 hours is actually best) with most high quality water-based latex paints. Wait at least a week before painting with oil-based paints to allow the MildewFree to fully cure.Is MildewFree USDA or FDA approved for food contact?
No.Is MildewFree UV stable?
Yes, there are pigments in the sealant that will protect it from UV damage, which may come in from a window or skylight.
