Can I use any color latex paint in eXact color?
YES. You can get an exact match to your paint when you mix it with eXact color.

Can I use my faux paints, textured paints, metallic flake paint, or glow-in-the-dark paint in eXact color?
YES! If these paints are latex based, then they can be used in eXact color with good results.

Can I use eXact color for exterior applications?
Yes. Refer to the Product Brochure or Tech Data Sheet for more specific application instructions.

When I use eXact color, will the color be uniform throughout the cartridge?
Yes. If eXact color is mixed as directed (either by hand or in a mixing machine), the paint will be distributed evenly throughout the cartridge before the activator is added and mixed in. Once thickened by the activator, the color will be uniform throughout the cartridge.

Will the gloss or sheen of exact color match that of my paint?
With semi-gloss or gloss paints the match will be very close. With flat or eggshell sheens the eXact color will be a little glossier.

Why doesn't the color of the eXact color match my paint when it comes out of the tube?
Don't worry! As the product dries, it will be an eXact color match. But out of the tube, it may look a little lighter in color.

What is the best way to tool eXact color?
Using a beading tool and masking tape provides the sharpest and cleanest results, but fingers, paint brushes and foam paint brushes can also be used at your discretion.

How long can I store my mixed exact color?
When sealed with the clear cap, mixed eXact color can be stored and used for 1 year after being mixed.

Can I use simple universal pigments in exact color, instead of paint?
Yes. When mixed by experienced professionals. Contact Sashco for detailed guidance if you desire to use universal pigments instead of paint. Of course, it's best to simply use your color paint to ensure an exact color match every time.

If I want to use a semi-transparent stain instead of paint to color my eXact color, how should I use it?
It is best to use 10cc of semi-transparent stain (measured on the syringe that comes with your tube) in eXact color to give a much better match to semi-transparent stain. A full 30cc shot of semi-transparent stain added to eXact color will result in a color that is too dark.

Can I use an oil-based paint with eXact color?
No. Several bad things can happen, depending on the oil-based paint's formula:

1. It won't mix in properly, like oil-in-water, and give uneven coloring
2. It can cause the eXact color to de-stabilize and congeal
3. It can lead to the finished caulk being sticky when it dries
4. It can lead to the dried caulk having poor performance and poor endurance

Can I paint over eXact color?
Yes. It will accept all types of paint when it is completely dry.

Is there a way to prevent air bubbles in my eXact color when I mix it?
No. There will inevitably be some air bubbles that form when it is mixed. However, air bubbles don't affect the performance of the product.

Where should I store unmixed cartridges of exact color?
It is best to store them in a cool, dry place. Storing in hot temperatures can cause the product to skin over, which will in turn affect mixing, final appearance and performance.
